I got a love that keeps me waiting

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of going to a free pre screening of the movie Warm Bodies and because it is opened last week, I thought I would blog about it.

I first heard about this movie last year when some friends and I were talking about Twilight coming to an end with the release of Breaking Dawn part 2. It was mentioned that Summit Entertainment was trying to ride the coat tails of the paranormal romance phenomenon with a zombie romance movie...and then with the laughing and hilarity ensued. I'm not into zombie movies, I can read books about zombies but I don't want to watch anything dead eat the brains of anything living...it's a thing. I tried to watch the Walking Dead with my husband and I got through the first episode and haven't watched it since. No thank you. When the first preview came out for the movie it looked like one of those movies where all of the potentially funny parts or anything half way interesting happens in the preview and the rest of the movie is an hour and a half of mind numbing, eye gouging boredom.

It really is true what they say about the deception of looks.

My friend was able to get her hands of free preview screening passes a few weeks before the movie was going to be released in theaters. While I was still not impressed with the idea of the movie and not a huge fan of zombie movies, I'll see anything for free so I decided to give it a chance and go. Ten minutes into the film and my friend and I were hysterical with the laughing. The dialogue of the movie, even the dialogue between the zombies (if you can call it dialogue) is so well written and it really is a sweet movie. Yes it's a zombie movie and zombies are still gross (no matter how funny the movie is) but there really isn't a lot of the gore you would find in a typical zombie film (Thank Goodness).

I would see this movie again and actually pay for it. Apparently I'm not the only one because as I type this, Warm Bodies has been out for a week and it is currently the #1 movie in the country. Here's for people who are way smarter than I am!
