I’m a little slow on the uptake.
Those nearest and dearest to me already know this; however,
I don’t usually advertise that information to complete strangers, unless I have
something important to say, so listen up!
I love a good hamburger.
Keep in mind, when I say “good hamburger” I don’t mean running through a
local drive through, ordering an overpriced ball of grease in a paper bag and
driving away.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not knocking it. I’m not going to preach about the dangers of
fast food, that information is all over the internet and you can find it if you
want. I like burgers because they taste
good, and when you compare a good burger to the ones at those fast food dives,
there is no comparison.
On a suggestion my husband and I tried Yeah! Burger this
weekend with some friends to celebrate the hubster's birthday.
Yeah! Burger is not new to Atlanta by any means. The Virginia Highlands location that we went
to on Saturday has been open since late 2010 (remember how I said I was slow on
the uptake?) but this was our first time there and for the record, it was
amazing! In case you don’t know, Yeah!
Burger prides themselves on wholesome, organic ingredients in all of their
food. They specialize in burgers made
from Grass Fed Beef and Bison, all natural and cage free chicken and turkey, or
an all natural and organic veggie. All
of the meat (and veggies that look like meat) are made from ingredients that
are free of additives such as growth hormones, antibiotics, synthetic
pesticides and herbicides, and other yucky things that seem to make it into our
food supply. They offer traditional
sides and such as French fries and onion rings but also more healthy options
like gluten free French fries, gluten free sweet potato fries, arugula salad,
and my personal favorite fried pickles (also organic)!!!
Please don’t misunderstand…I am in no way a health food
junkie. I am, however, trying to make
better food choices. The one thing I
hate about stereotypical “healthy” food is the taste. There’s a reason why there are so many
overweight people in America and that reason is simple, food that is bad for
you, for the most part is really yummy.
I think organic food gets a bad rap because people assume that organic
means bland and tasteless. I thought
that too until I tried Yeah! Burger. You
don’t realize that what you’re eating is good for you. It’s amazingly good and I highly
recommend. So yeah, traffic in and
around the Virginia Highlands is terrible (there’s also a Midtown location) and
okay, you can get a less expensive hamburger at more than one fast food place
try Yeah! Burger, just once and I promise it will all be worth it.
